Jau Hida Pokhara – Movie Review

What’s Good: Rekha Thapa and Jiwan Luitel‘s chemistry and performance, perfect presentation of Nepali film industry and life of actress to some extent, couple of songs.

What’s Bad: Screenplay which is weak but it would work for single screen audience for whom the film is made.
Story:
Film revolves around the life of an actress Rekha Thapa who was supposed to fly to Pokhara to shoot her film Jau Hida Pokhara but she gets uninvited problems and hurdles in her way. She meets Ravi Luitel at Airport who gives her support as well as becomes reason of inviting problems at some places. Rekha have to reach Pokhara anyhow to complete her shooting but she reach to Janakpur. And she have problems that comes in her every step along with Ravi. How will Rekha face all those problems and tackle with Ravi and reach Pokhara? Or what will happen in between? Find out all these mystery at Jau Hida Pokhara.
Jau Hida Pokhara – Film Review:
Before starting the review, let me give our viewers a glimpse about director Shovit Basnet. Shovit Basnet is one of the oldest director of Nepali film who doesn’t care about the controversies or rumors about him. His most of the movies are inspired from Bollywood but his film usually works at single screen. Although his last two movies failed, he is confident that this will do good. Shovit and Rekha Thapa have a good tuning as Shovit’s film Durga has made Rekha a star.
Jau Hida Pokhara Poster
Jau Hida Pokhara can be a good taste for those audience who have loved Shovit Basnet’s earlier films. Film don’t have strong and tight screenplay as it have a story and aim that is set on the story to reach Pokhara and the film moves forward for fulfilling that aim. Film have comic sequences, action packed, dialogues and obviously Rekha Thapa’s glamour as well as action which will make the possibility that film will work at single screen.
If I need to point out the drawbacks and minus points of the film, there are many like driver sequences, Ravi and his mother sequences, taking selfie with normal mobile and so on. But that doesn’t matter for single screen audience as it have other ingredients to please audience. And to be frank this time Shovit has not copied any Bollywood movie’s story or theme in this film which is an appreciable thing.
Shovit Basnet have done good job than his previous work. He has tried to make the film with his smartness including everything that a Rekha’s film should have. He has not improvised much than his previous work but what is to be noted that he has made the film for his audience not to multiplex audience. He has dared to present himself in the film with negative as well as his positive comments that are fact.
Rekha Thapa looks good as she has portrayed her own real life role. From her character, we can understand how she have to face negative comments from reporters when her intention was not bad. Film has tried to portray the real scenario of Nepali films as well as actress life. How people with full pocket money thinks it is easy to make Nepali film by roping actress.
Jau Hida Pokhara is just just for single screen audience not for multiplex audience. Yes it is need to say single screen audience and multiplex audience because we have two group of Nepali film’s audience. Single screen audience will find this film interesting. Although film don’t have emotion quotient due to which film may get affected but it all depends upon audience.
Last Word:
As mentioned above, if you loved Shovit Basnet and Rekha Thapa’s film than this can be watchable else ignore the film
