Even with all the help in the world and an entourage of people picking their outfits for them, Bollywood, at times, does fashion as wrong as it gets. Unflattering and hideous clothes apart, sometimes celebs tone down the label instead of accentuating it and nothing hurts us as much. Apart from that, stars who opt for style as a chore fall flat on their face and then there's no saving after that. Yes, there is always another day, another fashion outing but once spotted, you gotta call a spade, a spade. And we are it again, doing the dirty job for the good of all.
That's right. It's time for the week's worst dressed list and let us warn you, it's distasteful. We have a few regulars (oops) and a few newcomers who have made it, albeit in the wrong way. While the style file is going to do nothing for your wardrobes but we bet it'll do a lot for your picking palette. Or so we hope. So, shall we?
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya is not one to digress. But hey, not every day is going to be a win. The actress, who usually dazzles in an all-black outing, left us unimpressed with this Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna pant-suit. Even the flaming red hair and tangerine lips couldn't save the day for Aish!
Sonam Kapoor
We commend Sonam for all the risks she takes as a fashion icon but this Escada white blazer and plum pants didn't get the p of power-dressing right. Is it contemporary? Yes. But her hair accessory did not gel well with the sleek style she was going for. On the other hand, we are saving the green clutch a blow.
Alia Bhatt
While Alia is almost her casual and chic self, we have a complaint with her safe ways. This airport outing, for example, could have looked good without the floral Péro jacket over the beige-and-white combo. Maybe a contrasting colour next time?
Manushi Chhillar
While we are still at airport spottings, we have a big nay reserved for Manushi's ash lavender one-shoulder dress from Lola by Suman B. Although the colour was refreshing for the eyes, the neck stole choked us up a bit. No, we are not going to talk about the purpose of the singleton buckle!
Chitraganda Singh
Nobody does sexy better than Chitraganda but we almost felt cold after looking at her in this black-and-white saree by Label Punit Balana. Forget about vintage vibes, the patterns were jarring to look at. Also, the colonisers called they want their bell sleeves back!
